Kagurazaka: WEEKENDERS COFFEE All Right (ウィークエンダーズコーヒー オールライト)

Summary: Try their delicious pudding toast together with their artisan coffees.

You can probably tell that Kagurazaka is one of my favourite places to hang out when so many of my blog posts are dedicated to the area despite me not living close by to the area anymore. (try searching my kagurazaka tags!)

Back when I was still living in Waseda, weekends often meant strolling along the streets to explore new cafes around the area. My legs would often take me to Kagurazaka, a classic, charming, shopping street, lined with numerous cafés and restaurants.

Recently, I re-visit a book cafe that I last dropped by about two years ago.

Orginally from Kyoto, Weekenders Coffee is one of the city’s only artisanal coffee roasteries that was one of the key drivers in developing a coffee culture in Kyoto.

The cafe shares its space with Kamome Books, a small local bookshop offering a modest selection of art books, fashion magazines, illustration & kids publications.

One of their popular dishes on their menu is their pudding toast.
Apparently, Weekenders Coffee's puddings, scones and desserts are provided by ACHO, a famous sweets shop in Kagurazaka.

My date got their pudding toast, but I got to take a bite out of her dish.

The pudding was so smooth, velvety, rich and custard-y. It was pudding from heaven,
No wonder it's so popular.

I have never smeared pudding over my toast, but I think this is definitely something I should try at home.

I got their english scone with pear jam. The scone was not bad but small and expensive.
ROSE BAKERY is still my number one when it comes to scones in Tokyo.
(will blog about it some day..!)

Weekenders Coffee is quiet and laid-back, and the crowd is mostly local. Definitely a good spot to visit if you are looking for the perfect cuppa Joe off the beaten track.

They occasionally hold coffee tasting events and latte art lessons - more information on their website.
